CIRCLE OF LOVE

CORNET Note: Greetings of Hope in this Advent Season. The "Circle of Love" are supportive folk who will NOT be among the expected 1000 or more guests who will actually attend the service inside the Convention Center. They additional witnesses to God's love.

Persons who can not be physically present in California are invited to form an even wider circle by being in prayer wherever they are during the time of this sacred event. Some congregations may want to open their sanctuaries for corporate prayer also.

Let our focus be on God's love, who has created us all. We are all, no matter our gender or sexual identity, a part of God's Creation. No one is outside of God's Creation. We, as Christians who follow Jesus, the Christ, are Called Out to live the highest and most-difficult-to-fulfill commandment of all: to love God, neighbor, and self.

Press Release

Come Celebrate!

On January 16, 1999, two people will join together in a holy covenant of joy and commitment. You are invited to enfold Jeanne Barnett and Ellie Charlton in a human embrace--a Circle of Love--as they publically join their lives in Holy Union.

This gathering of friends will envelop the sanctuary with prayer and song, banners and flowers. We will create sacred space, and surround the building with unity, support, and love.

Let the cymbals crash! Let the gongs clang! We stand on holy ground, and will not be moved.

The Circle of Love will gather at the Sacramento Convention Center at 9:00 a.m. on January 16, 1999, and will remain in prayerful community throughout the day.
